Rattlers U-20’s stay undefeated in four games

Lancaster, California--- 2008 the Lancaster Rattlers Super 20 squad took on the Riverside MGFM at the Lancaster National Soccer Center. The Rattlers maintain an undefeated streak of three games and only one loss in the last five going in to Wednesday’s event. The game Wednesday made it four straight undefeated and only one loss in the last six games.
As Wednesday’s game began it took 21 minutes for the Rattlers offence to wake up when Chris Sandoval, forward was the first to strike. Sandoval in the 21st minute took the ball in mid field then made a run from the right side weaving around two players from the MGFM, then when Sandoval approached the 20 yard line he took his shot, as he reached with his body to shoot around a defender he curved the ball so it was just out of reach from the keeper and off the side netting to be what was the winning goal.
In the 80th minute of play defender Hector Macias took the ball on an interception from a pass by the opponent 60 yards out and began to carry the ball down field to the offensive zone weaving in and out of six opponents, side stepping around and through each one then finally right in front of the Riverside keeper, Macias faked one side then the other and pushed it over the goal line for an insurance point. With several opportunities for MGFM in the closing minutes keeper Victor Chinchilla turned them away each time. The game ended in a 2-0 shut out in favor of the Rattlers. The Rattlers are now 2-2-3 in the Pacific Division with 9 points. With only one point separating the Rattlers from a tie in first with the Ventura fusion and the LA Galaxy, they will next play against Poway Saturday June 28th here in Lancaster at the Complex on field 9 at 2:00pm. The Rattlers just came off a 1-1 tie with Poway as they managed to tie the game in the last closing seconds. Lancaster will try and button it up a little better this time. Come out and watch some exciting soccer action as your Lancaster Rattlers seek to stay undefeated and win putting them with 12 points. That would put them all alone in second place behind only the Bakersfield Brigade
